Rev. Lewis S. Bennett
Pastor Lewie was born and raised in Zion, Illinois. He is the 3rd of 4 children, and is also an identical twin. He originally started college at Northern Illinois University with a major in printing. On the advice of his pastor, he transferred to Fort Wayne Bible College where he majored in Christian Education. Upon graduation in 1984 he accepted the position of Youth Pastor at Kalaheo Missionary Church where he served for a brief time before returning to Fort Wayne Bible College as Admissions Counselor.
In 1990 he married Sherry and accepted the position of Associate Pastor at Grace EC Church, where he remained until June of 2019. He is the father of 3 adult daughters, Ashleigh, Rachel and Kayla and is now living the life of an empty-nester.
He still enjoys playing with kids, hanging out with the youth, singing with the choir and running with the other old guys at basketball. His life motto is "I may grow older, but I'll never grow up".
He is very excited about the opportunity to serve here at New Zion and see where the Lord will lead!
