  2. You can pack your own shoe boxes to send overseas
  3. You can contribute financially, either online or through the church to help fill the boxes
  4. You can contribute items to the church that we will use to fill boxes
  5. You can help pack and wrap boxes at the church
  6. You can make certain that each box the church collects is properly labeled and ready to ship
  7. You can donate monetarily to help ship boxes that are packed

Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child. Samaritan’s Purse works with local churches and ministry partners to deliver the gifts and share the life-changing Good News of Jesus Christ.

  1. We have Operation Christmas Child Boxes available at the Church or you can use an empty shoe box (standard size, please) or a small plastic container. You can wrap the box (lid separately), but wrapping is not required. Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your gift.
  2. Determine whether your gift will be for a boy or a girl, and the child’s age category: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Print out the appropriate boy/girl label by downloading the artwork to the right. Mark the correct age category on the label, and tape the label to the top of your box.
  3. Fill the box with a variety of gifts that will bring delight to a child. Use the gift ideas provided on the bottom of this page. Please include at least one item a child can immediately embrace such as a stuffed toy, doll, ball or toy truck.
  4. Please donate $10 or more for each shoe box you prepare to help cover shipping and other project costs. You can give online by using our “Follow Your Box Donation” option, or you can write a check to Samaritan’s Purse (note “OCC” on memo line) and place it in an envelope on top of the gift items inside your box. If you or your family are preparing more than one shoe box, please make one combined donation.
  5. Place a rubber band around each closed shoe box and drop it off at the Church .You can also send your shoe box gift to: Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child 801 Bamboo Road Boone, NC 28607

Volunteer Opportunities...

Together with you and the more than 100,000 dedicated volunteers in the U.S., we are able to share the love of Jesus Christ and the joy of Christmas with millions of boys and girls. There are several ways you can partner with us:

MAKE THE BIGGEST IMPACT BY VOLUNTEERING YEAR-ROUND
Dedicated volunteers work year-round to promote and pray for Operation Christmas Child. Teams of people are coming together around the country to serve in the specific areas of prayer, church relations, community relations, media relations, and shoe box collection. Opportunities are available to use your gifts in these areas. To volunteer year-round with Operation Christmas Child, go to the
Volunteer Interest Form.

SERVE AT A COLLECTION SITE DURING NATIONAL COLLECTION WEEK
An exciting way for groups and individuals to serve the Lord through Operation Christmas Child is to volunteer at one of our collection sites. Opportunities to volunteer are available during National Collection Week.

Opportunities to volunteer in Processing Centers around the United States are available in November and December. Volunteers in the Processing Center must be at least 13 years of age or older.
PRAYER PARTNER OPPORTUNITIES…
  • Pray for Operation Christmas Child (OCC) throughout the year
  • Seek opportunities to include OCC prayer requests in church bulletins, etc
  • Consider asking others to become Prayer Partners
